Take it easy. Things are not as bad as they might seem.

1) Take stock of your abilities. Education, talents, Are you good with people? Are you enthusiastic?

2) Be realistic about your shortcomings. Many people lack basic computer skills necessary for modern jobs. Some people aren't comfortable in high-stress situations.

3) Address your shortcomings with training or counseling. Community ed. is available all around the Twin Cities. (I'm from the west suburbs.)

4) Last, pick a dream job and start in that field. It is never too late to start your career or to become the next big talent.

Good luck

Keep plugging away!!!! Don’t be too down, be creative instead. Take a realistic inventory of what you skills are. What are your strength and weaknesses. You may need a friend to help you with this because when you are feeling blue you may not be very truthful to your self about your strong points. Once you do this, see what’s out dated, what needs improving. And work on improving them. Then see what shines bright and what you can market your self with. And remember one thing, Always project confidence no matter what! Don't be wishy-washy...NEVER!

Now what I would suggest is to figure where people your age are working. Its going to be hard for you to find a job working at some hip teen clothing store, but you may have no problem finding work at a hospital or other mature situation. Don't deny that your age plays a factor, instead embrace it and find what will accommodate you! There is nothing wrong with being mature, the mistakes come when you try to incorporate your self into environments not conducive to mature people.

You didn't keep a job for 9 years by being a dumb-dumb!

Try not to be depressed, turn that energy into action! Do something to improve your situations. Look at your past failures, learn from them and move on...Don't wallow in them.

Put your mind to it and accept and respect who you are...Because if you don't? No one will.

Best wishes to you =)

I don't know what to say. Finding a job is difficult, keeping one is also a challenge. Most employers want workers who have degrees. First, you need to ask yourself what you want to do in this life. Then figure out the skills and education to go after that career. If you don't have a lot of money, you might be able to get grants or financial aid. Most colleges want to help. As for getting fired, you don't have to list a previous employers number on your application. And, most employers are only suppose to tell what your hourly wage was and your dates of employment. Check out these sources. I hope I could be of some help.

maybe you are just trying to find work and not trying to find a job that you would like to do.
