I don't have a problem with Mexican people, but why do so many run away to America? If you want to answer that they want to make more money, than why don't they reform they own country, instead of sneaking illegaly into other countries, stealing jobs, and sending the money back? You don't run away from problems (e.g. Mexico) you deal with them.

To all the people who answer hatefully, get a life, it was a serious question. Also, change takes time, but America wasn't built in one day. People here had to fight for things too...Blacks for their rights, women for theirs, etc. Where would we be if all of those people ran away instead of marching and bringing about a revolution?

The answer lies in the reputation that the United States is an open country. Easy to get into, easy to manipulate the laws. Combined with the need for a job in an over populated, poor country there exists an opportunity for a better future that seems the best route.
Indeed many of those who help the illegals cross the border sell them passage to a a better job and life. some of these people become nothing more than indentured slaves.
Another factor in the illegal immigration to the USA is the corruption of the Mexican government, which has helped to stagnate the economy there.

Everyone always thinks the grass in greener on the other side! However, the American Dollar is worth so much more in Mexico that you could live a rich lifestyle over there with american money and with so little of it. That is why the mexicans go to America for the money because with that american money it is worth so much more than with pesos. Probably triple of what they can buy with their own money. their Govt is not like America to change job pay etc. it is very poor there. I remember going there living in Az often and seeing the cardboard boxes they live in or the shacks, terribly sad. Mexico needs to do changes but the people there know it wont happen so they flee to feed thier families and know that will only happens with american money so they can eat. You must go there to see how bad it is. Why Mexico doesnt change it I dont know but that is why they flee here.

mexicans do like mexico, but living there is too hard. many people think it's so cheap, but it's not. a nice apartment costs about $400 a month, and you might say gee that's great, but the average mexican makes $200 a month. jeans cost the equivalent of more than they do here, sneakers the same, electronics and appliances are generally more. the only thing cheap there are crappy souveniers and unfortunately, labor. so nobody makes any money but they have expenses almost as much as we have here. also, the system there is so complicated and there is so much red-tape and corruption, it is impossible to change things. think about america. even we had to fight a war to get independence from britain; change takes revolution, and the poor mexicans aren't ready for that again. i am not saying it's right to come here illegally, but people need to stop looking down their noses at the mexicans and understand there is little they can do to "fix" their country.

first of all Mexico people are fighting for their rights to and if you don't have a problem with it then why are you asking this question. Also you don't know what Mexico is like and if America was the same way you would run to a different country to. so don't act like it's so easy to change things in Mexico if you've never been there.

Go watch the movie "el norte". it is available in most public libraries. If you want to live in the conditions of a third world country then go and volunteer there for awhile. America goes to iraq to bring democracy but cant help its own neighbors, mexico and Cuba. They should help the mexican economy not put up fences

well many Mexican villages that are close to the US are very poor so they cross the boarder seeking jobs for money that they send back home. If the other guy would have won the MExican election this year. There would have been a lesser number of people crossing the boarder...........so he said

Probably because the poor in mexico have not political pull and therefore can not hope to change there own country. Some problems need to be delt with by moving on. That does not make it running from your problems

I partially agree with you. If they are so proud to be Mexicans then they should work to improve Mexico - not coming over here waving the Mexican flag and whining because we won't give them more. I have no problems with Mexicans if they come here - LEGALLY - and work hard and strive to become Americans. It makes no sense to come here to our success story make money from our success in business and then insist we change and adapt to their culture. I have no problems with individuals holding to some of their own cultural practices, but don't force yours on mine. Speak Spanish with your friends and family, but learn to speak English if you want to live and function here.

Because it takes money to make money. Their education system is different. Fixing that would help their country but in order to do that they need money. They don't have money.
A weeks wages is = $15.00 . Their country is not as bad as some other countries.
