We put vinegar, baking soda, and ammonia together (be careful it bubbles) in the oven overnight and it seemed to get the dirt off easier. It stinks less than the can stuff. A razor blade helps to get the really bad stuff.

Bar Keepers Friend (very fine grit cleanser) on Mr Clean Eraser in warm oven. It won't be easy but try it. There are oven cleaners that have no smell and some are pastes. Scrape with razor blade knife. Good Luck.

The grime is fat that dripped while baking.
Use WD-40. Oil will disolve oil.
After that, use vinegar. This will break down the remaining WD-40.
If you don't want to use WD-40 (in a can), use baking soda and a brillo pad.

I'd buy Aquaklean made by KBS Coatings. I use it to clean everything greasy & grimy and comes as a concentrate to mix as strong a solution as ya need.
