You can move in with me. I'm in California. I've got space in my closet. If you're a Californian, maybe we can move together to Wisconsin.

I would not move unless I had a job, a place to stay or alot of money.

Has this someone that is moving to you state ever said anything to you about a job or a place to stay? Maybe you should bring up the subject.

I know there are people out there that just do things and don't plan ahead. Could it be possible that they are planning on moving in with you?

It all depends on your money situation....If you got the cash to last a few months you can just move and find a job later.

If you don’t have the cash, start scoping out the job scene on the net and plan a blitz that would last a month or so. You should be able to find one by then. You will be staying in a crappy, cheap motel near the city you are looking for work in. Once you find work then you can get the rest of the cash that you brought with you for a security deposit on a rental near your work and get your self a place.

You really need cash in pocket though. Figure out what rents are, what deposits are like and prepare for that. Find out what motel rates are, they are usually cheaper if you buy a month in advance. Then have a few hundred dollars for cheap food and drink. Try to budget a month or so. Its best if you have all your bills and finances squared away before you bail, less crap to nagg at you.

It can be done and is quite an adventure but if you want it bad enough, save up and do your research you'll be living in the state of your dreams in no time!

Best of luck to you!!!! =)

Its really not that difficult. Especially if that someone is a friend. If they want work right away then secure a job before they get there. They can do that on-line.
Rather or not they want a job they need to save money before they get there. Put it in an account that can be used in and out of state. They can then choose to use a card or checks. Check are good because u tend not to waste money. (Money Market Accounts are good for that)

They can set up rental and payment decisions with a MMA before they even get there. Find a nice place on-line. Maybe you can find something nice for them
Good Luck

It would be great if your friend could get a job waiting for him or her but sometimes its not so easy so if that doesnt work out then i would say try to save as much money as possable trust me they will need as much as they can get it helps if they wrote down how much rent and getting things turned on like water, garbage, electricity ect also work in the cost of moving it can get costly if you need to rent a truck and movers. If they have a cellphone then they could hold off on geting a house phone which could hold off one more bill that person would be getting. There are alot of sites you can look at for an apartment even some that if you go through them gives 100 bucks which can go towards rent. But they really should see or get a clue to how much its gonna cost them before they just move. Last thing they need is stress of the bills that they are gonna get. Oh and if you have a friend or know someone who wouldnt mind a roommate for alil bit that could save some money there to and he/she will have housing till they can get a job and save to move in too there own place.

Technically, to move to another state, you just go there and set up a residence (buy a house, rent an apartment, etc). Check with the local governmental office (town, city, or county) about any registration that needs to take place.

It's a good idea to have a job there already, but not necessary. All the little monetary details are up to each person.

before i moved, i first visited the state to see what its like. imagine going to washington in the winter from hot california weather.

my dad got a job here at microsoft, so we planned to move there right away. cool, isnt it?

i moved from california to washington in march of my eighth grade. im ok, though a lot of people really missed me. after that, i got over with it and made new friends at my new school. it was pretty tough since i hadnt flown for a long time, but then i felt eager for it. as you can see my first question was "What do you when ur a new kid and ur going to move?" I posted the question right before I moved (though I decided to delete my account after some problems), and then I said goodbye to golden state. welcome this new person, as he/she will someday tell stories about it on yahoo answers.
