Well Congratulations Krissy ! I've had two children and I'm on my third, 16th week huh? If you haven't had the Alphafeta protien test, then your dr. will ask you if you want it done, I would definitely do it, because it tests for genetic disorders like Downs and Spina Bifida. Sounds scary, but it's just blood work. He may also test you for gestational diabetes, depending on your age. Hope it helps. oh, you may find out the sex too by this time. but you never know what those little stinkers are going to do when they check you.

At 16 weeks the dopctor will do the usual urinalysis for protein in the urine and weight check. The doctor will feel the fetus for size and listen to the heart rate. The doctor may even set an ultrasound for you at around 18 weeks.

At about 16 weeks I had the normal exam. The dr. checked the baby's heartbeat, I was weighed, my blood pressure checked, the doctor measured my belly and I peed in a cup. Nothing unusual at all.
It was a 20 weeks that I had an ultrasound.

Possibly an ultrasound (they would have mentioned that though)... other than that though, just a blood pressure check, weight check, babys heart rate check, then they leave the room before you have time to ask any questions... happens pretty much 90% of the time.

It'll be about the same as your last visit. They give you your ultrasound date. Maybe schedule some more blood tests. The visits seem a lot less through than you think they should be
