How much does an EMT make? How much would they make if they became a paramedic?

In the small Southern city where I work, paramedics make between $10.00 and $14.50 an hour + overtime. Basics make $8.00 a hour. We are fairly underpaid compared to a lot of other cities, though.

Both are underpaid. cops,firefighters,paramedics and teachers.. much more valuable than their salaries.
