My sister in law is having her bridal shower tomorrow and I was discussing this issue with my mother-in-law and my other sister-in-law and my MIL was told that she is suppose to buy the penoir and my SIL says that the Maid/Matron of Honor is to purchase it. Anyone have any idea?

I thought that was a maid of honor thing. I would be horrified to get that from my Mother in Law.
My husbands God Father gave us some satin sheets and I couldnt look at him in the face for 3 months.

I'm not even a prude, it was just like, thats his God Father. Yes everyone knows we will be having lots of sactioned lovin' but it isn't really everyone's business is it?

I dont think rules are as strict as they used to be. Personally I picked my own out because I wanted to make sure it was something that fit right and made me feel gorgeous! But, I think in this day and age any thing goes. Personally, I feel it is probably more appropriate for the matron of honor or sister to give a gift like that. It would be a little weird coming from your mother or mother-in-law.
