Tiger sharks are considered dangerous because they are opportunistic predators. They've been known to eat virtually anything. Some specimens have been found with license plates, cans, wood, etc. They also aren't shy about eating human flesh. Most sharks don't like the taste and will go on their way after biting. Tiger sharks will eat regardless. They're also among the largest of sharks, the record is 21.5 ft. They also are responsible for the 2nd most shark related fatalities since record keeping began. The Great White is the only species with more fatalities, but even the Great White won't actually try to eat a human like a tiger shark would.

Size and feeding habits. Of the over 450 known species of sharks only about two or three dozen species are actually larger than a human, and in this case significantly larger. Certain sharks, like the tiger shark, are what is called "opportunistic feeders." What does that mean and how is it relevant to shark attacks? Basically an opportunistic feeder is a kind of animal that will eat something totally new, that is has never eaten before, such as a human. Animals that are not opportunistic feeders, that have eaten the same diet for all its life of perhaps decades, obviously won't generally try to eat a human. Against its nature. So the fact these sharks will gladly eat something brand new makes them particularly dangerous to humans, more so than the bulk of other shark species.

The instinctive nature of tiger sharks is to taste their food before "eating" it. And they do that by taking a great big bite out of it.
The two problems are;
They live where humans love to swim. in warm tropical waters.
and they attack with such force (again just to get a taste) that the human body has trouble coping with the trauma.

Any predator that grows to over 15 feet in length is dangerous to any prey under 6 feet that ventures into the natural habitat of the predator.

Because they are the only sharks that enjoy human flash. The big white eats humans because he he thinks we are big fish or seals.

I think it's because they are basically a shallow water feeder and are very territorial, so the chances of human contact are high.
