I have just started college in a new area because I could not be placed in my local one. I am 18 and in a year with 16 year olds. It has only been a few days but I am finding it extremelly hard to make friends. Some people may feel intimidated by me because I am older but they don't even know I'm 18 yet! Also how do I go about meeting girls? I feel I have no chance.

the year difference is very small and girls dig older boys . i see it as a win-win combination ...

It seems to me that the people you talk to are involved in things that revolve around them: their family, friends, girl/boyfriends, their fave shows, bands, etc. People like to feel like the world revolves around them because if you're not part of what they want, you don't exist. Why would you want to be part of people like that anyway? you need to be more sociable. Mix in with every crowd at the school: the unpopular kids, the goths, the popular kids, kids from every class. I mean, you need to be into everything people around each section is into and just enter their conversations by introducing yourself and tell them you're new to the school and are looking for friends. Again, mix and mingle with everyone because if you don't you'll always be alone and neither you or I want that. Remember be yourself and believe in yourself! Good Luck!

just be really nice to people and smile because you could look mean.. be confident with yourself and be yourself don't try to be someone else.. and if you want to meet a girl you can always start a conversation by giving her a compliment but not to may because then you become creepy... just have fun and talk don't be shy..!!

It's all in your head, those otther people are no body inportant make friends like you and other way, do what you like and people that enjoy doing the same things as you will be sure to join...

you put your self down wayyyyy to much....ok there is no secret to makeong friends you just do ......itrudce yourself to friends and girls an be your self an thats all you got to do.....good luck =)
