Cacti are tough individuals, able to withstand almost anything, but never, NEVER allow them to become frozen! I lost a collection of 24 plants that way. Scoop up as much dirt as you can and put the plant back into its pot. Be careful of the spines, though. (Ouch!) You may need to prop the plant up for awhile until it can get a new grip on the soil inside the pot. But remember: don't over water it. That's the worst thing people can do to a cactus--water it too much. A quick watering right after putting it into the pot is ok, but back off the water for a week or two! You have a neat little "pet", and it has been slightly hurt, but it'll be ok!

I have a brown thumb but i can keep a cactus alive. If it can survive me it can survive your dog. But seriously JUst make sure that it has plenty of soil back in its pot and make sure it has adaquate water. It takes a long time for a cactus to hit permanent wilting point (causing unrepairable damage to the plant).

It should be fine, my dog used to attack mine, all the time, it always survived, cactus are hardy plants....
If it looks like it's not taking, just give it some TLC and a good sunny spot, it will be OK.

Shouldn't be any problem at all.
