Ironically fava beans goes great w/some lamb. I have it w/ some pilaf and lentils.

Instead of Chianti, I opt for a full bodied zinfandel.

i don't know if you're familiar with this spanish dish called fabada. well, i love it....it's really just soup made with fava beans, jamon serrano, morcilla (blood sausage), a bit of saffron, etc. tastes really great with some coarse bread on a cold rainy day..... unfortunately now i cannot eat it without thinking about hannibal lecter and that movie. ugh.
