yes, it has gone too far.
everyone is blaming the wrong people for the wrong reasons.
your friends' son would still be alive if it wasn't for that clownmonkey Bush. it was Bush's decision to send troops into Iraq and soon enough, more young son's of America will die there because they are fighting a war that cannot be won by conventional weapons.
you are fighting an enemy who does not fight fair and does not care about innocent children. they will kill all who get in their way.
Bush is going to call upon more young men in America to fight for this war that is truely meaningless. Why do I say that?
because it will help nobody but his own buddies. All the contracts to rebuild Iraq will go to his golfing buddies and friends of Dick Cheney.
All your friend's mother will get for her son's death is a letter from Donald Rumsfeld saying how great her son was and it won't even be signed by him..it's a copy of his signature!!!
what an insult!
seriously, Bush is the problem.
those protesters are wrong for slamming the military..the military are just doing their job.
Bush is the problem because he's telling the military to go fight for something that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
and what's worse is what's still to come.
Bush will draft more young men to fight in Iran in the next month or so when that war will begin.

I don't expect the world to have changed much in 5 years. I think that security will get tighter and we will have fewer personal freedoms on a global level. By 2008 you will be required to have a passport to leave or enter the U.S. via land or air and I imagine by sea port.
The war in Iraq may be at a less intense level than it is now, but I don't see it ending within the next 5 years. That's a war we stepped into without fully analyzing who we were battling nor anything about the culture of the people we are fighting. Alot of changes are coming and I don't think many of them will be in our best interest in a personal level. The government thinks in whats best for the majority not the minority.
We definitely need to change our way of thinking if we are to see any improvement in Iraq.

I read somewhere that people change their ways for about five years after a disaster, then they go back to their old ways of doing things. So unless the government can keep us scared about terrorism, people may start wanting their rights back, or at least resist further curtailment.
However, I think the war in Iraq will still be going on, and in the coming years we'll see the results of the terrorist breeding ground we're creating there. So if more terrorist attacks happen, we may lose a lot more rights.
I think it's just a matter of time before terrorists get a nuke and set it off. I don't know if it will happen in the next five years though.

1) The Iraq war will be over, but we will be close to or in war with Iran, North Korea or both.
2) Security won't be any different as we won't have been attacked so not much will change.
3) No freedoms have been taken away and none will.
4) Yes, Iraq will again be a sovereign nation, but not the one we fought for.

i agree...but at the same time, I am terrified to look ahead and wonder, and fear, and not know what the world will look like in five years. Will we all be living in a police state? Who knows? Maybe by then the muslims will have taken over...maybe iraq will be free, and maybe we will as well, i really have no idea, and i think that not knowing is what i fear the most

I sadly see women's rights no longer existing, not being able to control abortion, birth control, and surgery such as tube clamping. Christians will run around with their little books proclaiming the final days are here and that we should all repent....that many more children will be brought into this world and never educated about religion and religious tolerance, The worlds biggest threat today.

Didn't Ted Koppel just do a special on Discovery about that topic?
Sadly, many probably missed it because it aired the same night as that ABC docrapdrama.
