CATS - they are so independant.
As the wonderful Eddie Izzard said - it you throw a stick for a dog, it'll fetch it & bring it bck only for you to throw it again. This could go on for hours. Whereas if you throw a stick for a cat it just looks at you as if to say "you threw it, you fetch it".

I prefer cats, but I really have no reason. I mean, I like dogs too! They're both cute and fun! It just would not take as much time to take care of them. You have to walk dogs every so often, and bath them at least every 2 or 3 months. Cats never need to go for a walk, and they clean themselves everyday. All you have to do for a cat is clean the litter box, keep there food bowl filled, and give them a little love and care. Is that so hard to do?

I love all animals, but I prefer dogs as pets. I had two cats years ago one was black and the other tortoise shell. The black one would sit on your lap and let you stroke it, then it would turn on you scratching with his back claws I had a few sore arms !!!They both lived 22 years. But I rescued a pit bull terrier and she started my love affair with dogs, she was the gentlest creature I'd ever met, and extremely loving. She died last year and though I now have a westie I miss her terribly. I also had a collie/lab cross while I had my pitbull and the two of them together were mad as hatters they brought so much joy into our home. My only sister died three years ago and left a wee westie which I adopted and as usual I have fallen head over heels in love with the wee man, he's hilarious thinks he's a rottweiller, and not the size of tuppence.

I much prefer Dogs as pets, its so lovely when you come in from work/shopping and to get a lovely welcome home from your dog.
Also, if you are feeling like you don't have anyone in the world to share your troubles with, a dog is always there, you can talk to them and they look at you with their big brown eyes as if to say "I understand", and then you give them a hug and feel happier with the world again.
I have always had dogs, and would never want to not own one, currently i have a 12 year old German Shepherd Dog.

Dogs, because cats dont need as much attention or loving as dogs and they are no where near as affectionate as dogs, they just do everything themselves.

I prefer Dogs!!!! They are our best friends... nothing against cats...some of them are great, but they don't show their emotions like dogs do.

well ive got a cat and a dog.......and i dont prefer one more than the other cause they are both equal so really is everyone to there own!
