You can try to put either paper towels or new dryer sheets down on the spot. then take a hot clothes iron and act like you are pressing the carpet, the heat will melt the wax and the paper towel/ dryer sheet will pick up the hot wax. you may have to change the towel/sheet several times depending on the amount of wax.
I found that the dryer sheet worked better for me on my carpet.

The method that has been recommended to, and worked for, me was:
place a clean white (or dye free) cotton rag on top of the wax. Pass a warm iron back and forth over the rag. As the wax melts, it will transfer to the cotton rag. It may not get all of the dye out of your carpet, but most if not all of the wax will be effectively removed. The key is to keep lifting the rag, once it's saturated with some wax, and place a new, clean portion of cloth over the spot to absorb more. Just be VERY careful to not accidentally iron wax from the rag back onto the carpet!
Good luck! (P.S. - A hairdryer that has a good heating element might also work....)

The easiest way is to use one of your old bath towels
and your iron. Heat up the iron to the cotton setting
not to high just for the purpose of heat. Put the towel
over the wax part on your carpet and then the iron.
Don't leave it on for too long just to make the wax
melt. Once it has melted the towel will obsorb the
wax. The key is not to burn your carpet either.
Than you can shampoo the area to completely get
the area clean. Hope this helps.

Scrape off as much as you can without damaging the pile. Put brown paper (or other absorbant paper) over what's left and carefully apply a hot iron. The wax should melt into the paper. If this doesn't completely remove it, you can carefully shave off the top of the pile with a razor blade.

Try to put ice on it and wait for several minutes or u can use the ice like a brush on the carpet but be careful to your hands (because of the ice-cold thing)
