Your BA is at 14%...mine is at 24% but I really don't care about that anymore. Besides a lot of people can get best answer by voting on their own answers or answering questions that are about to expire and don't have any answers yet.

As a general principal, I would agree that Best Answers percentage is important. You can rack up a lot more total points, 2 at a time, by giving short, irrelevant, ignorant answers to many questions, than you can by giving thoughtful, knowledgeable answers to a smaller number of questions. I usually respond mostly to questions where I have some personal knowledge or experience, and where I think I can actually be of some assistance. I have often spent 15 or 20 minutes writing a response, with a maximum return of 12 points (2 for the answer, 10 if it's a BA), when I could have spent the same time answering 30 or 40 questions for 60 or 80 points. Oh well. Since there is absolutely no tangible reward for points or BAs, I sometimes wonder why we even care about quantifying answers.

NO. I answer a wide variety of questions with little regard to whether I will get a best answer. Sometimes I see a question that I can help with and I respond with advice not caring whether or not I get the ten.

Now, there are a couple people I am competitive about, but it is NEVER about the points or the BA%, it is about having them judge me as their favorite.

I guess my answer is this, if I am on a roll where I am answering a LOT and I see my BA% going down, it doesn't make me stop, if I am having a good time.

Neither!!! If this became getting used to truly be of valuable help to each physique it would be great. yet on the grounds that's being taken care of and scored as a game (with quite presents) that's in hassle-free terms a entire waste and not valid to all people of real benefit. and because Yahoo has those days began a mooch marketing campaign, i'm much greater antagonistic to this than ever formerly.

I agree that BA are important, but the total points indicates more the level of participation. The way all is reported right now is excellent. I love the new format for the page that analyzes your participation.

Chow!!

Yes, in fact a high percentage BA means that you really care about giving a reasonable, knowledgeable, and meaningful answer that was thought out and it indicates there may be more substance to that person. Upon review, I have felt that my best answers were the best answer.
