History of computers? That's a history report, and the affect of music on mice isn't exactly something that will show anything in 8 weeks, it may take longer.

If you live in an area where leaves change color, my daughter did the one listed on:

She found three different trees to use. She just had time for the first two projects. It came out great, and prompted alot of questions even from adults. She was also able to make a very good display, since she had an autumn theme to work with. Be sure to use the alcohol outside, and away from any flame source. My daughter ground up the leaves using the chopper in the food processor (quick bursts) the finer the leaves are chopped, the faster the process goes.

Good luck.

It's good for you to realize history of computers is not the right type of project, and my advice is don't use animals. Plants are good, no ethical concerns for their treatment and if you get a type that grows quickly you can have fast results.

A proper science fair project will use the scientific method. Form a hypothesis (educated guess), design and experiment to test the hypothesis, record the results, and make a conclusion as to whether the answer is right or wrong.

How about a little more info...do you have particular interests in science? What grade level and class? Do you just want to get a good grade or try to win an award?

Do a project on the evloution of computers. It was only 50 years ago hard drives were invented and could hold 5 MB of data. The enitre system took up half a room.
