I have had the book "The New Astrology" by Suzanne White for years and swear by it. In it she combines the western and chinese astrology systems to create 144 unique signs (12 x 12). It is fascinating and, I think, highly accurate. I don't have it in front of me, but mostly she combines the compatibilities in the two systems. In western astrology, the water sign Cancer is most compatible with the earth signs Virgo and Taurus. In chinese astrology, the Snake is most compatible with Ox and Rooster. Any combination of these is ideal - Virgo Ox, Virgo Rooster, Taurus Ox, Taurus Rooster. Capricorn is also an earth sign and would be the third best in the western astrology, so you could add Capricorn Ox & Capricorn Rooster if you need more options.

Hi! I am a CAncer/water snake! I'm going to try to track down that book the New Astrology. Thanks for telling me about it! Stay away from Aquarious. They'll break your heart every time! And be quite ruthless about it, too! They are too cold-hearted for cancer! ANd YES! the chinese symbols DO matter. For instance, A cancer and scorpio SHOULD get along but if their chinese signs aren't compatable, the relationship probably won't work out. I've seen too many examples first hand to brush this off. I really think there is something to it.

The most compatible match for a Snake is the Rooster or the Ox.
CANCER goes with Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus and Virgo. (best match is Taurus)
