Why take a chance? Use the right tool for the job and you will have less work and stress as well. As a diesel mechanic and a millwright,I have seen my fair share of sheaves and gears that have seized on a shaft so tightly, they had to be cut off. Now that you want to spin that supercharger a bit faster, a bent shaft would case vibrations that could ruin it all together.

Been there, done that. I changed the one on my 97 GTP and I'm telling you, you have to use the pulley tool. Trust me on this one, otherwise you will, not could, will end up ruining the nose drive. I got the one here from Pulley Boys, you can also find em at Pep Boys, however, DO NOT buy the ones from Auto Zone or Kragen, they can damage the stock pulley. Trus me on this, I've been there and have done this. Anything with the 1997 to 2003 GP I can help you with.

My 2001 GTP has 155xxx on the motor, the only concern in that top mileage you may look ahead to circulate gaskets, manifold gaskets, and the trans to bypass undesirable. those issues merely tend to bypass undesirable over the years. yet whilst they have already been replaced it would be super.
