Some ppl have these "avatars" that are as lond as the entire earth is around. my finger gets sore after a while. Why do they do that?

The name of the game is anonymity. We have avatars to disguise our true identity. You can't put a lot of stock into them, however, since some of the terror-inducing ones probably belong to some nerds, and the sweet ones represent the hellions.
With some of the questions and answers on here, it's a lucky thing there are avatars to hide behind.....

Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed by your username on all posts that you make. You can select the image that best describes yourself from your profile options.
Avatars are really so popular this days. esp in instant messenger like YM...
Why is that so?
Maybe because Avatars expresses your mood... or maybe because It represents you in some ways...?
It's just that everyone has a specific reason for using avatars...
well for me... I use it cause it has all this really cool features like gadgets. (check my avatar) lol...
