Well you definately need to keep talking to someone. If that therapist couldnt help you, she didnt know what she was doing. Look, your depressed for a reason. There is a reason for everything. And God only helps those who help themselves. You need to find someone you trust, who will take you seriously. Tell them what is making you feel depressed. Whether is be you love life. or maybe work. or someone abusive. I dont know what it is. So I am limited to my answer. But you need to help yourself. Figure out what is making you feel the way you do. Cause only you know for sure. Therapists try to pry it out of you through questions, and tell you ways to fix it. So just do it yourself. And get someone to help you. Let them know what exactly makes you feel the way you do. Keep talking about it, while you yourself is trying to fix it. Okay. Example. Your lonely. Tell someone you trust how lonely you feel, and talk about it. Keep it out of your system. Now while doing that, just go out and start talking to people, try to meet someone. Lemme repeat this, God helps those who help themselves. If you dont wanna help yourself, no one can help you. No one. That was just an example, but thatll go for anything. Diagnose your problem, Confide in someone, Then help yourself and fix your problem. You can do this all if you to.

If you don't like your Therapist or if that person is not helping you see another until you can find someone who does help you and that can give you suggestions that will help you.
You have to be willing to open up to suggestions from people. Don't take every suggestion, of course. Some may not be what you need. But do follow the reasonable suggestions.
21 is a rough age for some people. I was having a hard time at 21. If they suggest meds you should try them bcz they may help you. The meds do take a little while to work so you do need to keep taking them until you can determine if they work. Then consult with a professional before going off of them or changing meds. It is dangerous to self medicate or alter the dosage yourself.
Once you find someone who is easier to talk to try to map out a game plan of things that you can strive towards to improve the quality of your life. List behaviors that you would like to change and try to find out how you can alter your lifestyle to eliminate the negative behaviors.
Accentuate the positive. Make a list of the things you do that you like about your life. Even if there is only a small amount of things, list them. Take these two lists and try to increase the positive list and decrease the negative list.
Even it it is only one goal at a time you can do it.
Change does not happen over night and sometimes we become impatient. But once your life starts moving more towards the positive you will feel really good.
Also don't forget to be grateful for the good things that you do have. Concentrate more on the good things so the bad things will become of lesser importance.
Good luck to you and I hope some of this rambling help you to have a better day.

Did you know that depression can be from your body lacking certain minerals? There is a test doctors can do to find out about your depression and where it comes from. Also- did you know that if you think depression is genetic thats its only about 10% genetic and 90% learned. That means that you have learned probably from your folks how to deal with things and thus have learned how to be depressed. I think you should talk to your doctor about it because it could be anything. Also- you dont just take a pill and it goes away. Pills- and there are lots out there have different ways of effecting your body. Some give you whatever mineral your body is missing. Some block certain hormones from overtaking your thoughts. But you never just take a pill and poof yer better. You need a blood test, then if you go on a pill you still need therapy. The point of getting meds and therapy is to hopefully get you off of the meds.

2/ I think about "WHAT THE *** IS WRONG WITH YOURSELF" and then repair it, fix it.
3/ You need to stop asking people on here, that is including me.
4/ Go travel alot, that helps alot.
5/ When was the last time you had sex.
6/ What's wrong with the way you look? If you think it's ok and there's not problem? take it easy then, if you're fat? need to diet, too skinny? eat more! you get where i'm going.

Dont listen to all that CRAP about making life changes and then you will feel better. I am going through depression RIGHT EFFIN NOW, and no amount of lifestyle change is gonna make a differance in a TRUE depressive.
If your therepist din't help you, find another. And so on until you find one who DOES help. Ask about meds. They make a HUGE differance, and speed your recovery.
Know this, depression is an illness. It isn't your fault, and you can NOT "pull" yourself out of it. You need help to do that. Trust me, hon, I have been a clinical major depressive scince I was 12!

Oh, I'm soooo familiar w/ this subject! Maybe u need to talk w/a psychologist who is licensed to disburse medication. Be careful because some anti-depression meds can make ur moods worse, it takes time to find the right one for u. U really need to talk to someone about this before it gets out of hand!
I also recommend that u visit one of these web-sites:

God bless u hon.

I wish I knew you so I can give you good advice. Personally I got out of it after reading the book from Louise L. Hay Life Is Yours. To get out of it you need to change yourself a lot and see yourself with the right attitide. There is no problem you cannot overcome, Every person is on this world with a task and mission.
Here is one of my favorite poems by Tone Pavcek:
Chrunches
You are on this world to look ata the sun.
You are on this world to follow the sun.
You are on this world to be the sun yourself
and keeping away the world´s - shadows.

A poor diet can contribute to depression as can lack of exercise. Make sure you are taking care of these essentials in healthy ways. If therapy doesn't help a medication might. See your personal doctor and talk about your problem to see what can be done to help yourself.

I'd suggest talking to a doctor about it. Depression medications can help, and a combination of the drugs and therapy is generally far more effective than either alone.

Try Bikram Yoga. It is something you can do and will help you.
I have known a lot of people who went to therapists or took drugs but the only things I have seen that really worked are Martial Arts and Yoga. Both of them do great things for your mind and body.
