An employee felt pressured to speak to an officer regarding an incident because the employer send him and he felt pressured that if he didn't go, he'd get fired.

If there is an investigation concerning the business and no personal or union contract protection, you bet your bippy.

You can always not talk to the police, but you don't have to work there either.

No you don't have to make the statement to the police as you will see before signing the statement its says that you are telling the truth and if you lie or just do it you can get in trouble.

The employer can not fire the employee over that as it could constitute unfair dismissal and/or break of contract!

Can an employer command that you speak to an police officer yes. Can you refuse to talk to an officer yes. Can the employer make that a condition of your continued employment yes not a pretty picture is it?

depends on what the issue is.... is it work related and if it is why wont you speak to the officer... you may want to speak to a lawyer and see what your rights are regarding this matter...
