Practice,, but let it all go at once,, simply make sure that your RPM is not too high,, otherwise you lose!

Trick to do a good wheelie on any gear is that u must have enough forward momentum at the begining..
You should tighten the clutch cable a little more so that u get a very accurate feel of when the clutch is released because that has to go exactly when u give the accelerator...
Then if none of the above works out try downshifting from third to second although this method is not largely advised because of the large amount of strain u will put on the gearbox..
Anyways all the best...Dont forget ur helmet and wear proper padding..
Have Fun

I think it would be very unlikely that you can pull a wheelie starting in second gear. It would take a very strong motor because of the change in gear ratios compared to starting in first gear. By powerful motor I don't mean horsepower, I mean torque. Two different things. I suggest that you get to a balanced wheelie position very quickly before you get going so fast that first gear is maxed out. If you finally get up and your going 25 MPH the engine is rapped out and you're going too fast. Anyway, get the bike up balanced and then shift to second. Control engine speed so that you don't dump it down forward or flip it over backwards. Yeah, it sounds tricky and sorta tough. Good luck and since you're doing this type of crap, WEAR A HELMET !!!!

you suck, you go around asking if chicks think it's hot when they see a guy 'popping' a wheelie on the interstate, and then you ask how to use the clutch. that's gay. you suck, plain and simple, and you're doing it for all the wrong reasons. you want to do it to impress people and not just because you're trying to advance your skill on a motorcycle. you shouldn't be doing it on the interstate especially if you're still learning. find an empty parking lot, dead end road, abandoned airfield or dragstrip etc. Grow some nads and stand up bish boy, left foot on the passenger peg, bounce/rev/clutch in first at about 15mph...stick to first until you know how to use the brake and ride em till your arms get tired.

The ZX7R was one of the best bikes ever made. I just sold my ZX7RR one of 350 imported in 1996....
What youre doing wrong is using the clutch! Dont use it! Yank it up in first gear, and when you want to change gears, simply back off the throttle slightly, snick it up a gear without the clutch, and then open the gas again! Its s snych dude!

Try 1st gear 10-15 mph to get the front up. When you reach the balance point it's all a matter of finesse on the other gears.

Any experienced rider will tell you that only beginners and showboats pop wheelies.
First learn to respect the power of the machine and then learn to control that power and master balancing its center of gravity under all circumstances.
If you can't control the bike going up you are in deep sh!t when it comes down.
Road rash does not impress the ladies! It only shows that you can't control the machine.

The mistake that most people make is that they do not give it enough gas. You gotta have that throttle at least 3/4 of the way open if you are going to get that thing off the ground in 2nd.
