This is my third week in starting my own business. I'm reading books by David Swartz (The magic of thinking big), Robert Kiyosaki and others. I'm doing Private Franchising with a company that gives you everything you need to become successful. I approached so many different "schemes" and this one has a proven track record. They have longevity, a proven plan of success and I didn't have to pay hundreds of dollars. Plus...you interview to get in. They don't accept anyone.
Do lots of research. Look at the BBB and check these companies out that are willing to help you.

There are two things you need to have in business - Passion and the willingness to learn.
Once you know what your passions look at the list and see how you can turn them into a business and even better what gap in the market can you fill that people may need?
A friend of mine worked in a DIY store and he was a keen fisherman but hated his job so I asked him why he didn't do it for a living and he looked at me and said he didn't realise he could. I asked him if his store sold fishing gear. It did so I gave him a few ideas:
Give advice to customers on what they needed
Organise fishing tours
Write articles and small books
Have a 'clinic' where people with questions or issues could come and ask for advice
You get the idea? BUT first you must know what spins your wheels and then you will never work another day in your life....
Good luck!

You can register online. The form will lead you through. Starting is the easy bit. Running and keeping it going is the hard bit. You need a business plan i.e you need a vision and mission. You do this by a SWOT - stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. SW is you i.e what you are good at and what you are not. OT is external: whether your world is going to be an oyster and the predators are going to get you. Your financial management is vital. You need a good balance sheet to start with. Gear by all means but this has to be sustainable i.e. good profit and loss to sustain the cash flow. Gearing helps you to grow faster. There are other reasons but I am not going to start you on the wrong foot. Good Luck and Regards.
