Don't use lotion, use baby powder.
I use shaving oil and I never get bumps, razor burn or redness after I use it. My skin is moisturized and feel like silk thanks to the oil. I never have to use lotion on my legs everyday like I use too. I love this product and I won't go back to cream or soap for shaving again! I don't get itchy either because my skin is nourished and moisturized from the natural oil. It smells so good too!

Your itching because your skin is either dry or irritated. You didn't describe your shaving techniques so I will give you some tips. Sit in the tub for a while before you shave. This softens the skin cuticle which makes it easier to shave. Rinse the razor often and make sure it is a new sharp razor. Use shaving lotion but if that is not working well enough try baby oil or hair conditioner. Wait a while to put on lotion after you shave so you let the pores close. Hope some of this helps!

Men's aftershave has alcohol in it so DO NOT splash THAT on your freshly shaven legs!!! OUCHIE!!! Here's two things that work for me... I have VERY sensitive skin and shaving irritates them too:
1. If it's a small area to be shaved (armpits/bikini line) use deoderant. A thin layer of stick type deoderant calms the skin and wont give you any of those icky red bumps when you shave. Be careful though, you really need to do a good job of rinsing your razor after you do this because the deoderant will clump in the blades.
2. Immediately after shaving, skip the lotion (some with perfumes in it may actually dry out sensitive skin, and cause you to itch) and go right to baby oil. Smooth that on your legs and after your skin has calmed down a bit or later that day or before bed, maybe spread some Palmer's Cocoa Butter (if it works for preggo's it'll work for you) over your legs just so they won't dry.
Also, take into consideration that most of the nation's weather is changing into fall/winter temperatures so your skin may be extra prone to not-so-normal behavior.
Hope that helps!!

Skintimate shaving cream is good. Get something that says sensitive skin, that would work best for you. Wait a few hrs before putting on lotion. And don't put on men's aftershave. If you need aftershave, there's women's stuff out there for you.

Youve gotta use lotion everyday on your legs for this to stop. You gotta use a moisturizing shave gel and then always lotion after shaving.
That itch will go away.....and NO, aftershave has alcohol in it.

I used to have this problem no matter what I did (soap, shaving creme, different razors) until I started using the Venus razon and using Avon lotion afterwards. Never burns or causes bumps.

Yes, you need to exfoliate your legs before you shave. It's the dry skin thats making them itch! Yes, I know, they were wet, you put lotion on... it's still dry skin. Scrubbing with pumice or a nice loofah BEFORE shaving should help!

you're not alone. after i shave and then put some lotion on, my legs do burn. I think it's b/c when you shave period, you irritate your skin.
