It's perfectly normal. People that don't are abnormal. We should stop idelising celebs and people on skin and hair ads. I personally hate to see abs (tummy muscles) on a woman. Not because of my masculinity it's just not natural. I love to see the natural body of a woman.

I think a healty body image means that first of all you *have* a healthy *body* - you're not obese or anorexic. And then it means being happy and proud of the good features that you have and not obsessing too much about the less than perfect parts. You don't have to think that you're the most beautiful person and totally perfect in order to have a healthy body image. That's delusion and vanity. So in your case, if you've gained muscle then you should be proud of that and proud of how your muscle looks. Flat tummys are stylish so it's too bad yours is not that way, but people are different. It's not ideal but it shouldn't bother you either. Focus on eating well and excercising and smile at your good features and accept the bad as part of what makes you human. Oh, and by the way, after you write something you can look for the little "check spelling" box and use the yahoo spell checker.

i'd say a healthy body image is not basing your judgements on other people, models, or naturally "skinny" people, or the amount you weigh... u have to look at yourself; ur bones, ur height, how u look, and ultimately how u feel about yourself.

for example, if u are muscular, your weight is automatically going to be "higher" than someone who does not have as much muscle. so the LBS don't really mattter.

*remember, u have to make sure u live a healthy lifestyle. do u eat healthily? do u do portion control, don't overstuff urself, eat salads, fruits, nuts, protein, carbs? do you exercise? u need to exercise DAILY. i'm sure you do p.e. at school... like running or walking for 30-45 minutes....u need to Sweat to lose weight.

if u do those things, i think most likely than not u will have a pretty healthy, fit body. if u DON'T do those things but feel unhappy about urself, then it's liek complaining about something u haven't worked for. =T. i think if u put the time in to always make yourself Healthier, Happier, Positive, Confident, than you will have a healthy image about urself.

good luck~

A healthy body image is learning to accept yourself the way you are, its all about perception. Most women have a slightly larger tummy than men as we store more fat than men (possibly due to the fact we may store it up for when we have babies?). And anyway, as long as you are healthy - as u sound like you are quite fit (i am a lazy student u c) then you should be ok. Who wants to look like nicole ritchie anyway? She needs to eat some mcdonalds!

A healthy body image is being comfortable and satisfied with the body you have. Other people's body shapes should have nothing to do with how you view your own body.

Being in the normal BMI (body mass index) is healthy.

Dont try to want to be someone elses body or to look like them. Just be happy with yourself. Everyone is made different and has different metabolism and body build.

Just be happy with you and be healthy! :)

My Mum has always been quite obsessed with my body image (and I'm 42 years)!

I've always been overweight and this has always seemed to be more of a problem for her than for myself.

Just be comfortable in skin you are in!

AA's Serenity Prayer gives some good guidelines:

"God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change,
courage to change the things we can,
and wisdom to know the difference."

A heathy body image means having a realistic image of your body, accepting who you are, but knowing what can be improved.

I'd say good body image has alot to do with self-esteem. The better you feel about yourself the better "body image" your going to have.
