Pot is the miracle plant. It is God's gift to us all. Or mother nature's if you will. The plant would solve all of the needs and problems of our future.
It can be smoked for medical purposes and for creative purposes.
It can be brewed into alcohol
It can be made into rope, thread, and paper, even fuel.
The gruel from the seeds of the hemp plant is the one most nutritious food by itself than any other single food known to man. You could actually live off of it and only it. Perfect for vegan's. Yummy yummy. And three cheers for cannabis sativa.

It amazes me that alcohol is legal, yet it causes so much more pain physically and emotionally than pot. Who ever beat up their wife or kid because they were stoned? True, pot tends to drain a bit of your ambition, but doesn't alcohol?
In truth, pot is a "cash crop" for the DEA, as well as every other illegal substance. Every time they bust an established drug dealer at the top of the chain, they can impound his boats and cars, which in turn are used by the DEA to catch more drug dealers. If pot was made illegal, half of the DEA would be out of jobs.
I also think ecstacy should be made legal, except only the pure stuff, not the kind cut with speed or whatever else they put in there. And I think Congress should have one session where they all drop ecstacy before and we'll see how quickly Reps and Dems can get along.

I agree with you. It is hard to believe that cigarettes are legal but something that is so natural is not. I know that it is bad to smoke, period! But come on mental illness! To tell you the truth it has kept me sane through alot of hardships in my life. I do not drink or smoke cigarettes, but I would take a nice fat bowl over anything else any day. You are right there are other uses that hemp can bring to the world. I am from Oregon and it seems that the rest of the lower half of the U.S. does not seem to get the picture. Maybe they have not smoked any of the kind bud that we get up North. Any way you slice it, to each his own. More power to you and keep puffin'

If for no other reasons, health care. My significant other went through chemotherapy last year and is now dealing with the pain of lupus as a side effect; his doctors have recommended smoking pot to him to kill the pain without the inability to function normally brought on by prescription painkillers, but one way or the other, it's still illegal--his doctors can't tell him that on the record, and if he were to get caught with it, it would make no difference.

we use all types of medications that cause all sorts of side effects, alcohol is legal, i believe it should be legalized since the government cant seem to find a way to make money off of it themselves they keep it from being acceptable alcohol is detrimental to ones health as well as causing violence and dependency .marijuana helps with appetite, sleep disorders, anxiety, pain relief and other issues.

I would legalize it. There is no substantial evidence that using the stuff is particularly harmful -- certainly, no more so than using tobacco. A great deal of tax revenue could be gained, and a lot of enforcement dollars saved, if it were legal. Personally, I have never used the stuff, and have no interest in doing so.

As an old pot head, I can tell you that is is safer than alcohol. I am living proof that marijuana does not necessarily lead to harder drugs. I have been getting high for 37 years, I think its been that long. I cannot remember, no brain cells.

the only reason why they wont cause its an uncontrolled substance and they wont really make any money off it cause the guys who sell weed will still do it plus even more if it was free. but trust me usa is all about money! if they ever find a way to make money they will! BASTARDS!

It's illegal for a reason!!! I don't think it should be legalized in any country. It is a drug & regardless of the argument,it is addictive. It's costly over a period of time & destroys brain cells & wrecks peoples lives. The same goes for alcohol, nothing good ever comes from either one.
