He held out in a contract dispute, so he was traded to the Seahawks, getting big bucks.

Deion was holding out all summer long because of a contract dispute with the Patriots. He felt like he deserved more money and that the contract extension the Patriots offered him wasn't what he was worth. He still had one more year remaining on his contract though and wanted to get his money while he could and not risk an injury this year. The Patriots eventually gave him the ability to negotiate contracts with other teams. The Seahawks and Jets both offered him a contract that he liked, and then it was just a matter of working out a trade. The Patriots were wanting 2 1st round draft picks, so Deion filed a grievance with the NFLPA that the Patriots were not really wanting to trade him. Eventually, the Patriots accepted a 1st round pick from Seattle earlier this week and Deion dropped the charges. He should be playing for Seattle on Sunday.
* Oh and the grievance the Patriots filed mentioned above was against the NY Jets, so Deion can play for Seattle Sunday.

Bill Belichick is an idiot and he let all their good players go and they didn't want to pay their number one receiver a good amount of money of which he rightly deserves, Patriots told him that he could look for a trade and the Seahawks would take him for a first round pick, but last thing I heard that the Patriots filed a grievance against the Seahawks for file tampering, so I don't if he is even going to be able to play or not.

Branch held out in a contract dispute with the Pats. He was traded to the Seahawks for the first round draft choice of Seattle in the upcoming draft.

He's no longer with the pats. The seahawks got busted! and they will pay with a 1st round pick in the next draf
