"Not Without my Daughter" with Sally Field and Alfred Molina was pretty good.
"Solo Mia" with Paz Vega y Sergi Lopez is scary too, great performances, specially the end was good.

I don't know if you can still find it, but "The Burning Bed" is awesome. I think it's a true story. Angry wife gets sick and tired of her husband, douses him with gasoline while he's passed out drunk, lights a match, and goes to trial for murder. A great movie back when made-for-TV movies were good.
