I think is so unrealistic because,in alot of the movies the guy and girl only know each other for very little time before the guy pops the question of asking the girl for her hand in marriage. I mean do they always rush the marriage scene because indians are not allowed to date or what? Its so cheesy, like a cinderalla story.

Since they are still a novelty to me, I find them pretty amusing.
I like the music, and all the spontaneous dancing, and even the cheesy plots.
Maybe after I've seen more of them, I will get tired of them, as you seem to be, but right now, I think they're entertaining.

The movies are all stupid. They all are romances with comedy, music, drama and action mixed in to varying degrees. Every hero is a martial arts expert and able to defeat ten enemies at the same time.They never show the real India anymore, just an imaginary India where everyone is rich and beautiful and the country is pristine. Even though more and more money is being spent on making this trash, it's still trash.

Maybe you're thinking about western movies. The only Indian pictures I've seen that were highly rated and considered classics, were Pocahontas and Dancing With Wolves, both of which were excellent. There was romance, but also adventure and a good story line -- not too much boy meets girl, boy marries girl, type of thing.

I just don't get them, Indian Bollywood movies. What's with all the fancy costumes and the crazy dancing? I don't understand their appeal at all. I don't know how someone can sit through an entire movie of that and enjoy it. I mean come on, what's with that?

i think their different and interesting and i hope to see dozens more of them in the future. but it is true about the guy rushing to pop the question to the girl not even 10 minutes into the movie.

All of Bollywood is cheesy. That's part of what makes it funny. Even when iti's trying to be serious, it's so cheesy you have to laugh at it.

thats just the way Bollywood is. sure, theyre a bit cheesy, but theyre actually getting much better now. if u dont like them, then dont watch them.
