To calculate percentage you divide by a hundred then multiply by the amount so

5% of 1250 ->

1250 / 100 = 12.5
12.5 * 5 = 62.5

5% of 1250 = 62.5

5% = 5/100 = .05

5% of 1250 would be .05 x 1250

10% of 1250 would be 125

5% of 1250 would be half of that, or 62.5.

I'm not quite understanding "if there are 4"

Do it fast in your head - what's 10% of 1250? 125 - you shift the decimal one to the left. Now half of 10 = 5 so half of 125 = 62.5 (12/half (2)) = 6; 5 / half = 2.5... 62.5

Type just like this

=1250*5%, then enter and you answer will be 62.5.
