Your father is.... cause what he says goes it most states it is 12 but I'm not even sure about that.. I will say this.. when you show them that they can trust you and that u can act responsible that is when they will leave u home by yourself.. he is not trying to be mean but there is alot of scary people in the world and he is only trying to protect you! You need to understand that OK.. and another thing.. you shouldn't be arguing with your dad.. he is the boss and u are not allowed to talk back! Good luck.

There is no legal age to leave minors alone in a house. It is sad that at ten years of age you wish to get away with the corniest line ever coined "everyone else does it".
Stop and think for a minute, if this were true then there is no reason to avoid a pregnancy or drug use, murdering, robbing, cheating on exams, lying, eating junk food, drinking, anything that is detrimental to you, because the rest of the world does stupid things. You still have a lot left to grow up, even if you are resourceful as children tend to be today.
By the way you need to improve your grammar. If you took a Toefl you would end up with a really low grade, so you don't know everything, and this is basic.

12 years old is the legal age of most states. But at 10, if your really responsible. I might run to the store or something small. But like I said, you have to be totally trustworthy and have telephones numbers too. I would only do this if my child wanted, I would never force my child to stay home alone. Good luck with your dad.

Your Father. The legal age might be 12 but I wouldn't trust most kids until they were 35.

you shouldn't even be on the internet alone, nevermind being left home alone.
your dad has been on this planet for a much longer time than you and because of that he knows a whole lot more than you even though you probably think otherwise.
it would be a good idea for you to listen to your dad.

Whatever your father thinks is right in this case. Your opinion on things such as safety is second rate. There is not an "age" but if something were to happen to you, he would surely "die" in his heart, not to mention be investigated for child endangerment.
What your father says...RULES!
