If your depression is such as mine which is a chemical imbalance in the brain...I changed from Zoloft to Paxil and I feel much better, less stressed and less overwhelmed. I know a lot of people say there is no medical cure for depression but a chemical imbalance passed on from genes is a real thing and then the therapy of what may bother you most should also take place. Also see if adding busbar will help...try one of these after consulting a Doc.

You might need to change anti-depressants...Not all of them work the same. Like anything else our bodies react differently to different medications based on our particular imbalance that we have. You should ask your doctor to try another one. Remember it takes at least 30 days for anti-depressants to have an effect.

You should talk to your doctor. You may need to chage to a different anti-depressant, or change the amount. Another reason may be that most anti-depressant's only help balance seretonin levels, but depression can also be caused by unbalanced norepenephrine levels.

Talk to your family doctor/or psychiatrist..(whoever prescribes the meds), tell them it isn't working. I don't envy you at all, I went through about 13 meds before I found one that actually helped. You may also want to consider a counselor. Meds is not always the answer (long term) but talk to someone, it is serious illness. Good luck!

depression is a symptom of an underlying disease....i would get tested for certain diseases that affect the body's gastrointestinal tract or organs.....when one is affected, it can play a whopper on how the chemicals in the brain react.

irritable bowel syndrome
hepatitis c
kidney disease
viral infections
bacterial infections

i would have a comeplete workup of blood and specifically have the doctor test you for antibodies for diseases such as hepatitis c (HCV)

good luck!

I'm a firm believer that meds don't cure depression, they only help with the physical symptoms. You need to see a therapist and change your lifestyle and mindset to help your depression
