Apologize, and try not to repeat the mistake. But don't beat yourself up about it. Everyone messes up! It also helps to have a sense of humor about it, so that in years to come you will think of the incident and laugh. The world won't come to an end, even though it feels that way right now. So pick yourself up, brush off the dust and hang in there.

I get really nervous depending on the severity of the situation but my gut won't allow me to hide it or lie about it! I first leave it in God's hands. Then I either tell it & correct it or keep it on the low and repair the situation as best I can.
LOL & Be Good...=)

i confront it head on. if anyone else knows, i tell them i did it. if it will be found out later, i tell'em upfront. even when its an offense that can get me fired. the bosses love it. saves them alot of time and hassle cos they know they can trust me. they've always forgiven me and let me off the hook or allowed me to straighten up the situation. works really well. as far as criminal offenses go, if it can't be traced back to me, i leave it. if it can, then i fix it quick and leave.

Go back and try to clean it up. Whether it's a spilled drink, or someone's feelings that I've hurt...I try and fix it as best I can. Not everything can be fixed....but you can learn from everything you've done....good and bad.
