Americans are so used to having every thing served up to them on a silver platter. why actually go to the store when you can shop online why visit a friend when you can chat online with a web cam why go outside and enjoy nature when there is virtual reality We got gadgets that even do housework like the roomba vaccuum that does the job while your out. And forget a live person actually answering a phone when you call your credit card company maybe all this high tech stuff isn't so great ever notice how you have less time when all this is supposed to make you able to have more free time

Band aids light bulbs recorded sound every single device necessary for electricity the list goes on and on and on of the things Americans invented. Its a fact that Americans work longer hours and take less vacation than the rest of the world.

Which, frankly, is a load of crap.

It is easier to remember acronyms at times, too. ER is used to quicken radio transmissions from ambulance to hospital, as well as intrahospital. Also, some things are shortened because they sound... well, "cool". Specs are sunglasses, no? So...

Thus the creation of a new word. Also, back in the days of radio transmissions, it was easier to go - -- -- -- than -- -- - -- -- - -- -- -- - - --... You get it.

Really, I have no clue as to how we Americans appear to the rest of the world. From seeing Yahoo Answers, we're fat, stupid, lazy, and ignorant. It's too big of a nation to judge by a few pop stars and politics, people!

Well I use them because i am very busy. I have 2 Jobs i have a Baby Daughter. I take care of my Grandmother. I help out at my Church oh and in my spare time I try and get some sleep. why do you feel the need to Judge Americans?

Well for being lazy....
We built the best planes with out government subsidies.
Some how we have fifty united states (something Europe has never achieved).
We invented computers and united the entire world so you could complain.
Our industrial capacity has been the model for the world.
We have invented everything or took poorly designed inventions and made them work.
