I believe that rank-and-file Democrats are just as loyal and just as patriotic as anyone else in our country, but take a closer look at the "leadership" of the Democratic party in Washington DC... Some of the most liberal, most lunatic fringe radical Left wing politicians in the Universe have hijacked the Democratic party from the mainstream rank and file, and are trying to use it for their own political and personal agendas.

If the rank-and-file Democrats don't take control of their party and get back to the principles the Democratic party was founded on, then it may be too late to save them.

You certainly are on the right track. And I think the American voters this fall are going to hand the democrats a big surprise. The reason is that all they do is criticize republicans and do not have an idea. or a plan. they have not had a new since 1965

No, not to be a part of the Democratic Party per say. He would probably whip them into shape.
But, I also believe that many of the good past Republican presidents are most likely rolling over in their graves from what the Bush administration and the current Republican party is doing.

More importantly I think he would be ashamed to be an American given the awful mess we have caused around the world and at home. We have a war criminal and an unimpeached impeachable for a President. That said, we absolutely need a courageous and dynamic leader. We need someone to emerge from somewhere - I feel things are so bad we perhaps need a Messiah! Not a Burning Bush.

I wouldn't put it as big of an issue as you claim! Now if you were talking about the radical right, who are Fascist, I might agree with you!

I don't thing the left fringe has as much clout as the other side!

I think he is turning in his grave as he sees what has happened in Washington!!

JFK would not have been embarrassed by the party because he would be an established member of the establishment just like his brother is. We would not feel the same way about him had he not died . He might have embarrasssed himself many times in the intervening years like his brother did since he was and immoral person during his lifetime. My question is why would we care what he thought?

Todays Democratic party would force him out of the party like they did with Lieberman and call him a baby killing war monger for getting us into Vietnam.

There isn't anything wrong with most Democrats, but he would be embarassed by the likes of Michael Moore for sure.

huh???

you mean become Republicans?

Democrats have always believed in the same things with a few exceptions:

Equality
Social Betterment
Equal voting rights
Workers rights (and later Unions)
Environmental Protection

It is true that many dems have become more "liberal" but it only counters the repubs who have become absolute authoritarians.

I agree! There is a large chunk of the American people who are feeling very unrepresented right now.
