The button wasn't pressed when John was trapped under the door, when Henry was free. But then we now know that Henry likes his mind games, did he push it or not? He said he didn't.

well you obviously havent seen the season climax, but i'll spoil it by telling you the button IS a major deal, and the plane crashed because desmond pushed it late

yes so I can really see for my own eyes that the symbols appear then the clock resets and nothing happens and I would like them to find more hatches
