I would say that it is mostly learned, but fear, anger, and a stunted capacity for joy may have strong genetic components, and these are common traits among the liberal community. If you look at the faces of anonymous elected officials, a discerning observer can determine their party affiliation with a high degree of accuracy, based on the degree of these three traits mentioned above present in their picture. Liberal politicians almost always look more anxious, upset, and/or joyless than the average person.

All philosophies political or otherwise are learned. It's too bad it's not genetic however, then we would eventually be able to breed conservatism out of the human genome.

First of all, are you saying it is a bad thing? Second obviously it is learned, most of the time you follow your parents political views. If you know about politics before junior high you will be like your parents. If you have one parent each way, like me, then you either side with the parent that is closer to you, or you pick which one you like more based on the issues (the way it should be) which is what i did.

Learned. I was a conservative for the longest time. But after doing my own research and looking at the facts, I changed my views.

Oh no it's the Pong man! I'd say it's learned cause I haven't heard of a gene for political make-up. Cause it's learned you have to do more learning of it.

i am genetically kind and selfless. but it was also beat into me by those people referring to themselves as "mom" and "dad".

but i'm luckier than you for it. i can't understand why anyone would choose to be so angry about people who want to change the world.
