You can find pro equipment logs posted on various message boards. These typically identify the string type and tensions used of the top professionals at major events. Here's a link to one at tennis warehouse, http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?p=1118521

If you are looking for a specific player there is a web site where professional stringers hang out and sometimes respond to questions on message boards. The site is called Grand Slam Stringers and the direct URL to the message boards there is
http://www.grandslamstringers.com/forum/YaBB.pl/YaBB.cgi

Hope this helps.

Tennis pros pretty much stay within the recommended tension range of every brand of racket. Tension however is a very personal thing. It depends on so many things. Racket type, your type of play or swing or game, etc etc. Mostly it is personal preference that determines string tension. Pros are pros because they know the game, they know what they need. Pros even use different tensions for different conditions. They add or subtract a few tension pounds for night games or day games. Games in wet or humid conditions, hot and dry conditions or even for cool weather conditions or indoor airconditioned events. However, tension almost always stays within a recommended range which is from 55 to 65 pounds. Extreme cases are for guys like Borg who went up to 80. Sampras up to 70. McEnroe down to 40. Which was their own personal preference of course, which seemingly really worked special wonders for their special games. But that is hardly recommended for guys like you and me.
