If it's price you are concerned about you really should get a flight to London and then take the train.

There are only 3 locations in the UK where you can get scheduled flights to the US. These are London, Birmingham and Manchester. It is much more expensive to fly from Birmingham and Manchester because there are far fewer flights.

I would try Aer Lingus.com. They Have great one way fares. I checked for you and you can get a one way fare for as low (including taxes) as $330.00. It has one stop in Dublin. You do have to change flights, but the low price is worth it!
