suppose an oil pipe is leaking and the leak is creating a circle of oil on the ground that is growing .the oil continues to leak,enlarging the circle ,so that the area grows at a constant rate of 3 square meters per hour......
A. describe the rate at which the perimeter of the circleof oil changes over time.
B.make a graph of the preimeter of the circle as a function of time ..
C.find the perimeter of the circle at T = 60 minutes ..and T=60.5minutes ..use this values to give an estimate of how fast ,in meters per hour,the perimeter of the circle is changing

Try this:

Area=(3.14)r^2

Circumference=2(3.14)r

Combine the two equations to get: C= 2(3.14){sq.root of(A/(3.14))}

For everytime Area increases, the circumference will increase proportionally.
For the last question, find the difference of the circumference from a larger circle to the smaller circle. Divide that by 3600 seconds, this should give you a circumference for every second. Since the last question asks for the change of perimeter in 30 seconds. Just multiply 30 times that circumference answer you got for every second. This should answer question C.

I wish I could draw out question B, but this message board limits my options. Other make the y-axis to show perimeter, and the x-axis to show time.
