I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida - although I live near Panama City now. Jacksonville is the largest city in the US. The city was consolidated back in the 60s and took in the entire county, so in square miles it is bigger than NYC, LA and many others. There are many Insurance companies home offices in Jacksonville, a Naval Base and a beach nearby. It has not been hit by a severe hurricane since Hurricane Dora in 1964. It is intersected by two Interstates - 95 and 10 and circled by I-295. It's a pretty good place to live.

Lived 1 hr away for 4 years.

Nice place. Hurricanes are getting stronger due to global warming. Plus artic ice is going to melt. Florida's going to be there for only another 6 years I predict. Every single global warming prediction set by scientists has been exceeded by true outcomes.
