Who ever said that the balance of life is good and evil, was a lying evil SOB. Do you believe that the world will blow up if there is no evil? Evil doesn't have to exist. Where ever you see evil destroy it; there is no shame or sin in that.

Evil exists because people allow to by not embracing Jesus Christ. If all people everywhere would truly embrace Jesus, then evil would vanish. But because we cannot be trusted to embrace Jesus, the world must go through the great tribulation in which the defeat of Satan will finally be realized.

Life is a balancing act. You can't have good without evil, because as another Answerer said - "how would you know what was good?"
You can destroy evil wherever you see it, but rest assured (or not) that there must always be dark to compliment the light. Humans are of a nature to disect and condemn things unfamiliar to them..based on that you can rest assured that someone, somewhere, sometime will find somethign 'evil'...

It's because it is necessary to life. Trying to get rid of evil is futile, all one can do is try to live their life in justice, goodness and peace.

Don't forget the people. People are basically good, if nurtured and encouraged into it. And make sure what you are destroying it truly evil, not just in your imaginiation. For instance, you could say all bars of chocolate are evil, but they aren't really. You wouldn't need to destroy them.

if there was no evil, how would we know what goodness was? we know happiness because we have experienced sadness. if evil no longer existed, how could we recognize something that was good? there are different degrees of goodness. there is simply "good" "very good" and "incredibly good" (for instance). if evil no longer existed, "good" would become the new evil. so there will always be evil.

Depends upon what one defines as evil. For example, Hitler thought the Jews were evil.

Evil and its painful aftermath awaken our love for goodness and God. Human suffering is not a sign of Gods anger but a sign of mans ignorance of the divine.

If there were no evil, we would not know how to define what good is. There would be nothing to compare it to, and we would have no way to control our actions as being good.

As soon as good is defined, then so is evil. Together they make up a whole.
