People are moulded by their experiences, as well as their genetics. It's hard to have a positive outlook on life when you have persistently negative experiences of life. Obviously, though, everybody is different - so some people handle it better than others.
I doubt anybody 'enjoys' being angry or sad though. I don't think it's possible. People may say they do, but what they mean really is that they are habitually that way, they are accustomed to it, and have accepted themselves as being like that.

Agrippina:
I don't know that I would call it enjoyment, but once a behavior pattern has become ingrained, it is more comfortable to perpetuate rather than change, even if the behavior is painful or self-destructive.
It almost always requires outside help to provide direction to a person experiencing neurotic tendencies that cause pain to themselves and the people around them. Can such a person become happy? Certainly more happy, provided they are motivated to change. .

I don't think people have looked at themselves or "life" in general enough to know what makes them happy. If people would just realize that they would be happy if they could figure out what it is they love to "do" and do that as their life's work. That is the key to happiness.

I think some people are afraid to feel happiness. They prefer to stay in their zone of anger or sadness because it feels comfortable to them, even though they are miserable.

some people honestly do, but I don't blame them. Something has probably happened to make them that way.
