conformity means to be or act the same as something else. So if you were to conform to a ballarena, you might start to wear ballet shoes. leotards or tutus. THere would also be a change in attitude to act like the other ballarenia's .Look at the definition that i've attached

Conformity is the act of consciously maintaining a certain degree of similarity (in clothing, manners, behaviors, etc.) to those in your general social circles, to those in authority, or to the general status quo. Usually, conformity implies a tendency to submit to others in thought and behavior other than simply clothing choice.

Conformity is basically going along with the crowd.

In most cases it is seen as a negative thing because it's supposedly 'cool' to be a loner and a rebel. Basically, non-conformity is idolized.

However, for the most part, the loner/rebel types don't really make it in the real world. To a certain extent, you have to conform to society's rules in order to get and keep a job, get and keep a bf/gf, etc.

Conformity is choosing to do as others do, not because you have to or because you would have chosen to on your own, but because you want to be like them or part of the group. Its changing your behavior for the benefits of community with disregard for personal preference. Not all conformity is bad or selling out, but its always an exchange of your will and actions for the communal benefits. Its often preferable when the decision at hand is not one of moral significance.

Conformity is the act of changing your actions in order to fit in with a larger group. For example, if everyone in your sorority has blonde hair, you would conform by coloring your hair to look the same. This is a rather shallow example, but it's still an example. : )

Conformity means going along with the crowd, doing what everyone else is doing so that you won't be looked at as different. If you wear the same clothes as your friends, you conform to their dress style, if you like the same music as your friends, you comform to their taste in music.
