"Radical Christians" are nut-cases who stand on street corners outside gay bars screaming their doctrine of hate.
Most Christians, even those who believe homosexuality is a sin, don't condone that kind of hypocritical hatred.
If David Koresh in Waco had succeeded in buliding up his arsonal & used it to blow up every non-christian place of worship, could you imagine hourds of Christians rushing into the streets to celebrate?!? Of course not! Everyone, Christian & non-Christian alike would be disgusted!
The religion of Islam is not bad in & of itself, but this is a dark period in the religion of Islam, just as the crusades were a dark period in the history of Christianity.
*********
McLasso - How is the fact that she's a "fat lesbo" any relavance in this discussion?
Dilitsmo - While I think it's great that in America we can all have our opinion, would you be this tolerant if someone's opinion was that all blacks should be sent back to Africa? The fact that a person has a right to her opinion does not mean we can't critisize their opinion & it definately doesn't mean we have to give everyone air time to voice their hateful opinion.
House of.. & Barbsmons - While I'm disgusted by the abortion clinic bombings & murder of abortion doctors (and thrilled that Paul Hill got the death penalty), their crimes do not reach the scale & magnitude of the muslim terrorists who kill thousands of people who just happen to be in a building in America.
House of ... & Acid Tongue - Hitler may have considered himself a christian, but he didn't commit his crimes in the name of Christianity. He was a power hungry lunatic. The muslim terrorists think they are going to heaven for what they are doing.
John J - Billy Graham is a radical? Where the heck do you get that!?!?! And, while I can't stand Rush either, I'd be interested to see where you get the idea that he's called for the death of all liberals!

For radical christians causing mass murder, simply refer to: Salem Witch Trials, The Inquisition, The conquest of the Americas (particulalry the Spanish expansions), the Crusades, etc.
Judging from statements made by many radical Christians, they wouldn't mind seeing those days come again.
Name of some radical Christians: Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, and I believe Rush Limbaugh (who calls for the death of all liberals and those who don't believe the same as he does) among other right (reich) wing nut jobs.

I see your point, especially in the context of what was done to Nick Berg and what is still being done almost every day in that part of the world. However, purely to present a perpective, there was more than 30 years of terrorism and murder in GB and Northern Ireland and it only ended relatively recently. There were bombings of public places (including in London), people were taken and tortured then shot, children were murdered on their way to school and other atrocities were committed.
All of this by people who went to church on Sundays and called themselves either Catholic or Protestant Christians. Of course, they did not reflect the true basis of Christianity, but through their behaviour -- as they murdered along religious lines: Protestant versus Catholic -- they could certainly be classed as radicals.
Okay. That was just to give a bit of perspective in case anyone tries to say that Christians are never radical enough to commit terrorism. And I concede the argument that the Northern Ireland situation is completely different. But if anyone can explain to me how the politics there gave anyone the right to shoot children I would like to know about it!
The point is that no Christian worthy of the name will ever go out and commit murder. Ditto Muslim. Some frankly gutless 'people' like to hide behind a religion when they want to kill others out of pure, unreasoning hatred.
I agree with you in your basic assertion: Ms O'Donnell's comments are entirely out of line and show a disturbing lack of contact with reality, IMHO.
Oh, if anyone doesn't know what she said, here's a link to a verbatim transcript on WorldNetDaily, a free online news service:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51956
Now anyone who's read my answers before will know I rarely lose my temper, but people like Ms O'Donnell make me sick!
YOU WERE ATTACKED in the most brutal, murderous and heinous way imaginable by people who claimed they were acting in the name of their religion. We here in Europe were as gut-wrenched as you were and we also cried that day and even in the days that followed. Well, I certainly did.
These fanatics did not represent their religion, of course. The TRUE followers of Islam will tell you that these murderers were just that: Murderers. And regarding Ms O'DonnelI's statement, I do not think even the most fanatical American Christians are planning suicide attacks against Muslims. And even if they are, they do not represent the basic tenets of Christianity.
As for Ms. O'Donnell, she needs a wake up call and she needs it NOW. I'd suggest she should be dismissed immediately. Sure, she has the right to free speech. And yes, she has the right to insult millions of people and ignore the bravery of the firefighters and others who died trying to save people of ALL faiths after these fanatics had attacked. But she does NOT have the right to expect you to put up with it and hand her a paycheck!!
Thank you for the question,
Lenky

Actually, during the Crusades, Catholics (nee Christians) were known for murdering whole villages that disagreed with their religion. Read the biography of Martin Luther (no, not the civil rights leader, the leader of the Lutheran faith).
p.s. By the way, I DO believe she should STILL be fired!!!

Then you never heard of the crusades. Or the IRA, or any other social and religious strife that was and still is present in Ireland. Christians have more blood on their hands than any other religion. And don't say Muslim- for fucksakes- you making a whole lot of people look bad. And don't say Islam either for the same reason. Its the fundamentalists you have to worry about- IN ANY RELIGION!!!! And never forget, esp you Americans out there that are scared shitless of any Muslim your see- who blew up that builing in Oklahoma? Oh right- a bunch of inbred Christian right wing all American good ol' boys. Thanks for calling....

They should make her apologize and then she should be fired. But I don't think she would apologize. She would stomp off, kicking and screaming with the same class as when she crawled around under the table to grab the kitten. That was her 2nd show, and the last I have watched. She's too gross.

Rosie O'Donnell needs to be fired whether she apologizes or not . She is a vicious hate monger . What kind of "view" are they promoting on that show ? Every one of them should be ashamed . That show is toast and so is O'Donnell .

Rosie O'Donnell's opinions on geopolitical and cultural issues are about as usefull as a guppy's on skydiving.
Apologize? Not necessary.
It would only bother me if I gave a damn what she thought.
