i had a kid, her last name was her dad's. but im planning to marry another guy, i wanted her last name to be my husband's. what process shall i undergo?

Is she old enough to make the decision on her own? I'm guessing not. I just think if I was your daughter and you took my father's name away, I would resent it later. Guess is somewhat depends on if the dad is still in the picture. Either way, it's something your dad gave you and it wouldn't be right to take that away.

That will be hard. So to answer your question yes you will have a hard time. You will have to see if your ex will give up rights so that your new husband can adopt your child. Get with your divorse lawyer and see what they can do.

He has to adopt her. My brother went through the same thing. He never adopted his son though so his last name is still different.

You should keep her last name the same as her fathers. That's the right thing to do

Is this man ok with that. If so why doesn't he just adopt her? If so and if her father is on the birth certificate I believe that he need to approve it all.

you need to contact the courts and get the proper paperwork for a name change
