The term 'CHAV' is actually an abbreviation for 'Council House Associated Vermin.' Some will label a person a 'Chav' for any number of reasons, the most popular being a criticism of what a person is wearing. Popular celebrities who have been labelled as 'Chav's' include any member of the girl band 'girls allowed,' most partners of premiership footballers and 'Lady Sovereign' but to name a few.
For some reason or another this term has been allowed to be circulated though the populous of Great Britain which I think is abysmal. It is yet another unnecessary stereotype which has been used to undermine a whole social group which can only be a bad thing for our country.
