"bloom" is right...stress,high blood pressure and the other things she mentioned can affect this. however, the effects are more along the lines of a reduced sperm count for a guy and the inability to ovulate for a girl. for guys, hot showers can kill off sperm as well, so if conception is desired, take a cooler shower. i do not believe that stress will cause deformities in eggs or sperm. things like alcohol, drugs, and things that directly affect the reproductive system should be avoided. hope your child is a healthy one, and have fun!

Unlike men, female babies are born with all the eggs they'll ever need for having babies of their own already inside them. (Men generate sperm on a continuous basis, starting at puberty.) So, there's no damage to a woman's egg if she's stressed. It may make it more difficult to concieve if the woman is stressed however, not because of the egg, but because of stress symptoms in the body, such as hypertension, blood pressure, and increased hormone levels.

sperm can be damaged. egg, no.
however, be very careful. stress is very bad for the growing embryo/fetus.
