I went on to stage 2 when my baby was 4 months as he started waking throughout the night. So only change his feeding habits if you see a change in his demand for food or restless sleep at night. My baby is now 7 months and he is still on stage 2. I will probably change this at around 10months - a year as that is when my others did. If unsure do check with health visitor.

They say that follow on milk offers the same nutrients in a lower volume of milk, thus, theoretically, leaving more room for solids. However, everyone I've spoken to @ mum and baby group seems to have stuck to their original formula. Talk it over with your health visitor - but there is no right or wrong answer - it's just finding what suits your child best - some stick to the newborn formula milk, others go onto follow on milks - either is acceptable.

I would'nt change to the follow on milk yet. My son is 7 months old now and he,s been on cow and gate plus from 4 weeks cos he,s a hungry baby.If you find the premium is'nt filling her anymore put her on the plus. The follow on milk is for when your baby starts on solids, then they should'nt want as much milk.Think they say around a pint of follow on milk is what they should be having as well as solids.

"follow up" milks. are made from modified cow's milk with extra iron and vitamins. They are not to be used for infants under six months of age. These are: Farleys Follow On Milk, SMA Progress, Cow & Gate Step-up, Forward (Milupa). In general there should be no reason to change your baby from one "type" of formula to another. If bottle feeding, it is best to keep your baby on an infant milk formula which is suitable from birth to one year. If you are anxious about what you are feeding your baby, get in touch with your health professional, for example your doctor, public health nurse or dietitian. Milk from the carton or bottle, or unpasteurised cow's or goat's milk from the farm, are not suitable for your new baby. This is because cow's and goat's milk are too high in protein and salt, and very low in iron. Infants fed cow's milk have a higher risk of developing anaemia (low blood iron). Do not confuse infant milk formula with ordinary skimmed powdered milk. If you are not breastfeeding then you should feed your baby with an appropriate infant milk formula from birth to one year of age.

it depends on your baby i changed to c & g 3 when my little boy was 6 months because he wanted 9oz bottles of milk and food all the time and still wasnt satisfied. I put him onto stage 3 and he cut back on the amount of milk and increased his solids which worked really well for him.

You dont have to. Take the lead from your baby. If you think he/she needs more then change - if not continue with what you are giving.
You can give more solids now and it wont be all that long until you can give normal cows milk.
Have confidence in yourself. If you are still worried ask your health visitor - that's what she's there for.
Good luck and enjoy this time.

i might prepare the information that persons have published so a strategies as examine and take a seat your son down and clarify to him they're risking the wellness and progression of the child. in the event that they decline to pay attention then you ought to do what Pippin reported to do and contact CPS. interior the top the wellness of the child ought to be above the rest. Cow's milk has nowhere close to the food that a infant that youthful desires and including Kayro Syrup is doing not something healthful for him the two. i might say you should be pushy in this one.

No.
Follow on milk was invented so that the formula companies could advertise their products. (It is illegal to advertise baby milk for newborns.)
Just carry on with your normal milk. If you are worried about your babies diet then you could go onto follow-on milk from 12 months, and I know some people who use that. Best to ask your health visitor for advice if you are worried but lately they are scared to mention formula.

It is totally up to you. It is not necessary to switch her, besides it may taste different and she may not like it. The formula she is on now should have almost the same nutrients as the stage 3. Good Luck!!

hello. i had the same idea with you. my baby was not drinking enough formula(milupa1) so i wanted to give him follow on(3) .cause more iron.. he was 9 months old. 3 weeks i gave that to him.. he started to drink more milk but less food!! so after 3 weeks i started to give him milupa 2 now he is drinking that about 2 days. my health visitor said to me she wouldn't recommend follow on cause it can make baby drink more milk and to eat less his solids. and also she said follow on milks for babies who is under weight or who is not eating solid food properly.. if your baby eating 3 meals a day it should be fine cause he is getting iron from his food. continue with 1. or 2. but again ask your own health visitor. take care.. XxX
