I think there are women who use that as an excuse. We're allowed to be grumpy but not abusive.

The physical discomfort --cramps, bloating, headache, fatigue-- is one thing, but there are women whose mood gets affected and it doesn't always have to do with them being in physical pain.
Like someone said before, it's like the emotional ups and downs that a woman goes through when she's pregnant because of hormones.
You can't control it but it's certainly not an excuse to be rude and obnoxious.

That could be just an excuse because I never have PMS either. I just deal with my cramps and everything else myself but I never take it out on others.

I never had PMS at your age either! I thought the same thing. But as I have grown older, believe me, it's real. I don't even like to be around myself when it happens!! lol

Perception is reality.
My perception is my reality.
Eat a brownie, the chocolate has something good in it for your cramps.
